For The Love Of Trees book
PTP's second book has been published
“For the Love of Trees”, a new book by Plymouth Tree People, vividly captures the intense feelings that people have for trees. Its contributors all have an association with Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City, although the book will appeal to tree lovers everywhere as many of its thoughts and ideas are universal.
Artists, historians, landscape professionals and others share their thoughts in the book and explain why trees are important to them. Another chapter features trees that stand as landmarks of history; the Copleston Oak where an Elizabethan murder took place, the Widey Oak where King Charles I reviewed his troops and the Guildhall sycamore which survived the Blitz are all included and many more besides. The last of the book’s five chapters is a collection of tree trivia and it contains some amazing facts and figures, as well as a little about the elusive Plymouth pear.
“For the Love of Trees” is an A5-sized paperback with 136 pages and amply illustrated with colour photographs. It is on sale in local bookshops for £12.00 and also by post for an additional £2.50 – email webcontact@plymouthtrees.org
