It was a huge success!
2023 saw Plymouth Tree People host the first-ever Plymouth Urban Tree Festival! The 9-day celebration of Plymouth's urban trees in May was a huge success with over 25 events attracting over 1,500 people.
The Urban Tree Festival has been running nationally for 6 years with successful festivals being held in other cities such as London, Belfast and Sheffield. 2023 demonstrated how much people in Plymouth love trees so we decided Plymouth should run its own festival and we are so glad we did!
Almost all the events were free to attend and run by passionate volunteers! (The festival was run in collaboration with STRAW). There were informative tree walks and talks, activities for kids such as charcoal making, tree ring print workshops, tree-themed yoga, a photo competition and lots more!
For more information, please see the PUTF website, follow the festival on Instagram and Facebook and sign up for the mailing list. Hope to see you next year!
