The Partnership is now the People
As we've evolved, our name has too
Why are we changing our name? PTP has been working hard to care for, plant and help people learn about street trees for 20 years and we have decided it was time for an update. We are Plymouth’s tree people so we felt it was a perfect fit for the charity moving forward.
PTP will continue our work to increase the number of trees in our city and we will continue to care for the existing urban trees through our network of passionate and dedicated volunteer Tree Wardens. We shall continue to engage with local people who want to learn about trees and encourage them to get involved in their care. Urban trees benefit all of us in so many ways and are vital to really great public spaces.
Penny Tarrant says "As Chair, I consider myself privileged to lead such an amazing organisation. So many people give their time and expertise to nurturing and protecting our leafy heroes. They definitely need our help and care - being an urban street tree is not a walk in the park - they grow and even thrive, despite all manner of obstacles. Day in, day out they provide us with all manner of benefits - shade, cooling, clean air, absorbing run-off, habitat for wildlife, carbon capture - so let's do our bit to repay them with some TLC, some advocacy and protection whenever we are able to."
Let’s grow Plymouth Tree People and all work together to care, plant and learn about our city’s trees!
