Efford Valley Community Orchard

It was a great turn out for the Efford Community Orchard tree pruning and maintenance session last Friday. It was wonderful to have so many people come along who wanted to help!

Tess Wilmot and Dave Curno were on hand to teach people about the varieties of trees in the orchard which has around 75 trees in it! And to show people the best way to prune them. PTP Tree Wardens were able to help prune but also to remove all the tree guards and stakes, some of which had started to cause problems. 

The orchard is on quite a steep slope, and it was quite the work out taking the old stakes and guards down to the bottom and walking back up over and over! Working off all those mince pies!
