The new oak!
Plenty of mulch
All the young trees got some love

A tree-mendous effort by the volunteer Tree Warden mobile group last week who mulched trees in Tothill Park.
They also sorted out tree ties and stakes on the young trees, pruned and even planted a new oak tree.
The oak was grown by our Tree Warden for Tothill Park, Nick, and it is from an acorn which he collected from the Royal Oak tree at Meavy. This ancient oak is thought to be around 900 years old and was used as a hiding place by King Charles when he was on the run from Cromwell's men in the 16th Century!
Big thanks to @psdcommunityforest and @plymouthcitycouncil for providing the tree guard for the oak and a delivery of mulch!
