With the support of Plymouth & South Devon Community Forest, Plymouth Tree People have been able to support the passionate group of residents in Stoke - Stoke in Bloom, in their plans to create a new pocket park!

PTP are so happy to be working with Stoke in Bloom to bring colour and history to Blockhouse Park and the steps which lead up to the park from Pasley Street. As well as new trees, we have obtained funding for interpretation boards and 2 new benches.

The design focuses on creating a greener, more welcoming area for people that feels cared for and full of life. Planting will bring colour through the seasons, support pollinators and local wildlife, while also improving local air quality.

Kenny, horticultural professional and Director of Bloom, who created the well-thought out design said:

"It’s time to be bolder in what we deliver and demand from our public spaces. At Bloom, we stopped and listened to what people wanted, shaping everything from the colours to passive maintenance and the tech that’s invested into it. Often I design spaces in London, so it’s really special to be doing this for my home. Pasley Pocket Park is just the start of a new look and direction for Stoke’s green spaces — small space, big impact, with many faces behind it.”

PTP will be on site on February 27th from 10am to plant 17 new trees. If you would like to help, email alison.white@plymouthtrees.org
