The PTP willow sculpture installed at Keyham Green Places

During the Plymouth Urban Tree Festival local willow weaver and Tree Warden, Gin Farrow-Jones, started a project to build the Plymouth Tree People logo out of willow and everyone was invited to help!

It became a fabulous road-show of workshops with the sculpture growing and coming together at various venues including Central Park, the Royal William Yard, the Barbican and at Keyham Green Places (KGP), with lots of people contributing.

We were delighted that Jennifer at KGP agreed to host the finished sculpture and PTP were invited to do the last few parts during the KGP recent family fun day. Gin has now finished the sculpture and fixed it down and we hope that it will be there for many years.

The design emerged and evolved as the project went along and it became a fun abstract version of the logo, with swirls and twirls, fingers and leaves, and we think it looks great!
