Many of the original trees planted in grass verges when the road was built in the 1950s had died and the remaining few were in decline.

A local community group took action and planted 11 trees – an upright form of mountain ash.

Two years later, the trees are still establishing with regular care provided by a Tree Warden volunteer who lives on the road.
