Dawn and Lynne planting a new Silver birch

Dawn and Lynne planting a new Silver birch

Plymouth Tree People were invited by one of our volunteer Tree Wardens to take a look at planting opportunities on the wide grass verges along a few roads in this area where he lives.

We identified a number of places where trees could go, we consulted with residents and got a really positive response. In March, contractors Aborcure and volunteers planted 22 new trees and over 150 crocus bulbs - so next spring this area will look beautiful!

We got lots of lovely comments from local people as they passed by who were happy to see the trees going in.

Thanks to the volunteer Tree Wardens and everyone else who came out in,cluding members of the Plymouth Uni Geography Society!

A big thank you to the chaps from Arborcure who did a fantastic job of planting the other trees for us and Mark and the team from PCC for delivery the woodchip.

And last but not least, thanks to the Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest who funded and supported this project.
