A new Monterey Pine
In February 2025, 25 volunteers braved the soggy morning to help Plymouth Tree People plant 16 new trees in Victoria Park and what a fantastic effort by everyone!
PTP tree wardens were joined by members of the Victoria Park community group and the good folk at Snapdragons kept everyone supplied with hot drinks. A big thank you to Stephen from the Community Forest who worked so hard with us for months to get this project over the line and also mucked in with planting. And, as ever, the PCC team who delivered mulch and tree guards.
Extra big thanks to Chris Hunt, who kindly volunteered his time to help move trees on site and, along with Andrew and Dave, were invaluable in getting things sorted on the day!
This project, which includes funding for us to look after and water the trees, is funded through the DEFRA-funded project the Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest.
We planted lots of new species and replaced 2 Cockspur thorns and 1 London Plane in avenues where trees had failed.
