New trees planted in collaboration with Plymouth Community Homes

Such a great effort by a little bunch of volunteers who planted 5 large, multi stem Himalayan birch Jacquemontii trees on Devonport Hill. 

The ground on this grassed area was far from ideal so it took some time, a lot of use of the breaking bar and a chippy lunch but the result looks fab!

This planting was done on behalf of Plymouth Community Homes and with the support and funding of Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest.

Plymouth Tree People were also able to obtain funding through the Community Forest to install a picnic bench so the residents can sit and enjoy the new trees!

Big thanks to Ryan from PCH who helped with the consultation and on the day. He also bought the 70 odd dogwood plants which were planted around the trees and look great! Also, thanks to Stephen and the rest of the Community Forest team, who were great and also Mark and Wayne for helping us get the whopping trees on site!
